Before we left the hospital, we took a photo of "Mo". Mo was the camera that followed me around for 3 days so we thought you guys would like to meet him. I can't say I will miss him.

Great news, I'm busting out. They are letting me go and lowering my meds!!!

I should be home later tonight and then it's shower time! Also, I am going to be on a medication I love....it is good news all around...Yay!

Day Two

No tests today... two tomorrow and maybe photic stimutlation and hyperventilation. Medications will be cut in half tonight.  I will let you know what happens. The tests tomorrow will each last about 2 hours....Thank you for all of your comments and nice notes. I really appreciate them and especially the visits.

We are in our room and everything is going well. This morning I had an MRI, my blood taken and my eeg leads hooked up. So far it has not been that terrible at all.  Here are some pictures to crack you guys up....

Thinking of a Friend

Today a friend of mine is having brain surgery to stop his seizures. Please pray (or think good thoughts if you would rather) that his surgery goes well and his recovery is record breakingly fast. 

I am praying that he wakes up pain free and smarter than he was post-op. I am hoping for a genius but I will settle for healthy.

Thank you for your help with this matter. It means a lot to me.

The Packet's Here...

Today my information packet arrived in the mail from Memorial Herman. It details the check-in time, testing information, parking location, etc. I guess it is official, next Monday I am checking in.

I am fully prepared for a week of lockdown. Lupe and I have prepared a checklist including dvd's, books, magazines, and card games. I am even ready to be video monitored 24/7 (well actually 24/5).

After looking over the packet the main thing I am concerned about is hospital food. :) Anyone who knows me, knows I am a picky eater.

Bad hair for a week? .... Uh, problematic but I grew up with naturally curly hair in Houston BEFORE the straightner.

No shower for a week? .... Tough, but thanks to beauty blogs and my ability to research, I can work the hell out of a sponge bath.

Bad food? ..... NO DEAL. Where is the nearest exit?

So You Think You Can Dance?!?

Today has been such a good day. I just had an interview for what I would consider my dream job but even better, a friend just found out that his surgery is finally scheduled. After all of the waiting and putting his life on hold, he could begin a seizure free life very soon. Next Week!

I am so excited for him. He mentioned taking a hip hop dance class while waiting to have the surgery. I plan to make him go through with it post surgery. Let's see how cool he really is!?! 


They say things posted on the internet will will be there forever, so now he cannot ignore my challenge....Bazinga!

Insurance says Yes....

Last week I spent an hour on the phone with my insurance company and after multiple transfers someone informed my that my plan does cover this type of hospitalization. (well 80% of it.)

Now I am just waiting on information from the scheduler regarding the actual hospital stay...Fun things like the communal fridge, inability to shower for a week and Bean withdrawls. :)

Seriously, I have a lot of concerns but right now I am waiting for the nurse to call me back about the glue they use for the electrodes. During the 24 hour eeg my forehead itched and burned the entire time. Afterwards, I had blisters and then scabs for maybe a week or two. I am nervous about leaving the glue on my forehead for three to five days. I don't want matching, perfectly spaced round scars on my forehead.

Maybe I could do bangs?
